Burton is a Sales Associate in Mumford Company's Atlanta office and he has consistently produced strong sales results since joining the team in August, 2006.

During his sales tenure with Mumford Company, Burton has been involved in the sale of 50+ properties representing aggregate volume approaching $80 million in 8 states with the majority being focused specialization in the Florida and Georgia markets. He has been integral in spearheading an ongoing, multi-unit disposition program for a large, institutional client. His practice focuses primarily on the mid-market, extended stay and economy segments of the industry with a concentration in the Southeastern United States.

Prior to joining Mumford Company, Burton was a Franchise Licensing Specialist with Intercontinental Hotels Group. In this role with IHG, his primary task was to assist franchisees through the change of ownership process. Additionally in this role, Burton worked with his IHG team members in facilitating the process of renewing licenses on existing properties. This role allowed him to interact with individual and institutional hotel owners on single asset and multi-unit portfolio transactions across the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Crowne Plaza brands.

Prior to his tenure at IHG, Burton was employed in a variety of operational positions with brands such as Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn, as well as the Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort. This “hands on” experience and knowledge is a real asset which allows Burton to better serve and better understand the challenges that face his clients and customers.

Burton is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management. This program gave him a chance to gain in-depth knowledge of marketing, operations, finance and economics within the hospitality industry and provides a solid foundation for Burton's growth within the business. In addition to his undergraduate work at Auburn, Burton has completed coursework in real estate and finance at the Cornell University and the Urban Land Institute.
